Here’s your Reason 2 Rhyme for the week…
Choose a word or phrase you find yourself saying often (e.g. like, totally, hate, really, kind of) and write a poem using it as much as possible, turning it over and over, repositioning it, extending it, playing with its uses and the parts of speech into which it can be shaped.
I’m late with my own poem response this week. Funerals have a way of knocking the wind – and the words – right out of you. Here goes…
Well, well, well
Here we are again
At least it’s better than an “um”.
Well, I don’t know
Welllllllll…
What Everyone Likes Least
Well…
That’s a deep subject, for a shallow mind (har, har, nudge, wink)
Well, Yell, Swell,
Tell it Already!
I can’t wait to see what all you poets come up with, since writers are naturally tuned in to repetitive words. Hope you have fun with this, and remember to post your link below, share this site with others, and ask friends to join in!
Add your poem below in the comments, or link to your site and visit other writers by clicking the happy frog below!
You can add the happy frog link to your page by visiting here for the script…
